Open your workspace on your phone

Let your phone reach Prokop, pair it with a QR code, install the app, and get notified when a run finishes or needs approval.

15-second silent walkthrough of the computer side, recorded from a real Prokop instance. The added address is a placeholder and the Tailscale name is masked. Written steps below, including the phone side.

Before you start

Prokop runs on your computer, and your phone needs a way to reach it: the same Wi-Fi, or a VPN such as Tailscale. Installing the app and getting notifications on a phone need HTTPS, and Tailscale HTTPS is the easiest way to get it. Prokop serves the app and handles pairing; the network is yours.

1. Let your phone reach Prokop

On the computer, open Settings → Devices. Under Remote access, pick one:

  • Same Wi-Fi or LAN: turn on Allow devices on my network.
  • Tailscale: choose Set up next to Tailscale HTTPS. Prokop shares itself at your https://…ts.net address with a trusted certificate. Your phone needs Tailscale signed in to the same tailnet.
  • A proxy or tunnel such as Caddy or Cloudflare Tunnel: add its address, for example https://prokop.example.com.

Changes apply right away, without a restart. Prefer the terminal? prokop remote on, prokop remote tailscale on, or prokop remote add <url>. Every address still requires pairing.

2. Pair your phone

  1. Under Pair a device, click Pair a device. Prokop shows a QR code, a link, and a one-time code that expires in 5 minutes.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, or open the link on the phone.

Or open Prokop's address on the phone directly. It shows a four-digit code and asks the computer for approval; check that the codes match and choose Allow on the computer.

3. Install the app

  • iPhone: open the Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: use the install prompt, or Add to Home Screen from the browser menu.

4. Turn on notifications

In the app on your phone, open Settings → Notifications and choose Enable under System Notifications. Then pick what you want to hear about: Session completion, Permission requests, or both. The choice is per device.

Manage paired devices

A device stays paired for 30 days after it was last used. Settings → Devices on the computer lists paired devices; Remove signs one out immediately.

Before making Prokop reachable outside your private network, read Security & auth. For more on the app itself, see Install the PWA.
