Connect a provider and choose a default model

Connect your Codex subscription or an API key, then choose the model Prokop uses by default.

35-second silent walkthrough using a Codex subscription. Written steps below.

Before you start

Have Prokop running and either a subscription that supports Codex access or an API key for the provider you want to use. Need to install Prokop? Follow Get started first.

Connect your provider

  1. Open Settings and go to Providers.
  2. Find Codex under subscriptions and click Connect.
  3. Complete the sign-in flow for your account.

Using an API key instead? In the same Providers screen, find your provider under API keys, paste your key, and save it. You don't need the subscription sign-in flow.

Choose your default model

  1. Go to Models in Settings.
  2. Edit Default Model, choose your connected provider and the model you want to use, then click Save.

Prokop uses this model for session title generation and as the fallback when no model is selected. You can still choose a different model for an individual session.

Next, start your first session, or add an existing project folder. For more detail, see the configuration reference.
